William “Will” Jordan
Will Jordan is an experienced litigator focusing his practice in the areas of mediation, business and commercial litigation, legal malpractice defense, employment, and insurance coverage litigation. He has experience representing attorneys and law firms in legal malpractice actions in both state and federal courts. Will also has experience defending employers against claims for violations of federal and state anti-discrimination laws and other employment related claims. Will’s litigation experience is extensive and varied, including tort, construction, banking, medical malpractice defense, and landlord/tenant disputes. Will also is a certified mediator and mediates civil disputes of all varieties.
Prior to joining Hubbard & Gottschall, Will served as an Assistant United States Attorney and Chief of the Civil Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office in South Carolina. In that role, Will represented the United States in defensive and affirmative civil litigation, including claims involving medical malpractice and employment, and affirmative litigation and investigations under the False Claims Act.
Before joining the U.S. Attorney‘s Office, Will was a member of a South Carolina boutique litigation firm, where he focused on legal malpractice defense and employment litigation. Will is the co-author of “The Law of Legal Malpractice in South Carolina,“ published through the South Carolina Bar.
Will graduated from Davidson College in 2004 and the University of South Carolina School of Law, Magna Cum Laude, in 2007. While in law school, he served as an Associate Student Works Editor of the South Carolina Law Review, and was a member of the Order of Wig and Robe and the Order of the Coif.
Will is a frequent speaker on the topic of mental health in the legal profession and has presented on the topic to groups across the country. Will previously served on the Lawyers Helping Lawyers Commission for the South Carolina Bar.
Will lives in Columbia with his wife, Kennerly, and their four kids. He serves as an elder at Grace Presbyterian Church.
